Y Camps are for Everyone

get_image.jpgY camps are for every child and youth in our communities. Because camp can have a profoundly positive and lasting effect on children, we are dedicated to ensuring that as many kids as possible have access to a YMCA-YWCA camp experience. We provide financial help for those who otherwise couldn't afford the experience and integrate children with special needs while giving them one-on-one support. There is also the Evelyn E Laishley Campership Fund available to support qualifying campers who need financial assistance to attend Camp Otonabee.

Integration Program for Campers with Special Needs

One-on-one support is available in most programs for children with special needs. Parents/guardians and campers must arrange an interview at least two weeks prior to the start of the camp session with the local camp coordinator. An additional fee of $40/week is required to participate in this program. Limited space is available.

"It sounds like they are super inclusive. How nice is that? For an extra 40$ they get one on one support and they offer financial assistance. I also recently found out about this program; http://www.tranquilacresguesthouse.com/ A friend of mine, her grandson goes here. He has had so many health issues and as a result was suffering from some PTSD, poor little thing. Anyway, apparently this place has been extremely helpful to him and his family."
