An overview of Alberta Children's Hospital's Outreach Program that enables children, youth and families residing in smaller urban areas and surrounding rural communities, to access specialized pediatric healthcare closer to home. Includes the service model used to facilitate its day to day functioning, some of the successes and challenges experienced and future opportunities.

Photo_Tina Sakon_June 24_2020 Presentation.jpg Tina Sakon was born and raised in Calgary, Tina graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Nursing degree. Her career has spanned several years; first as a clinical nurse both on the units and in the Emergency Department; then as a sessional instructor for the university; and in more recent years, as a project manager, QI consultant, and Outreach Services Coordinator. When she’s not at work, Tina enjoys being outdoors hiking, golfing and gardening and spending time with her family.
