Autism and related Neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD’s), such as Intellectual disability and FASD, typically present with comorbid psychiatric conditions such as ADHD, Anxiety, tics, OCD and mood disorders. This presentation will review diagnostic overshadowing (referring to the diagnostic error of seeing the autism and misattributing all the symptoms to that underlying neurodevelopmental condition). Common psychiatric presentations associated with Autism  will be reviewed with case histories.

2. Aggression in children with Autism and related NDD’s

Children and youth with Autism and related NDD’s, commonly present with aggression and disruptive behaviour. In this presentation we will outline and work through an algorithm we have developed to help understand and treat aggression in these children.
